Create an invoice with AI.

Add the public remote MCP endpoint in ChatGPT or Claude:

Menus differ between AI chats and can change. The current MCP guide explains both setup routes.

Provide what you know about sender, recipient, service, price and VAT. You do not need a rigid form. For example:

• “Create a German e-invoice for web design in August 2026 for €1,200 net plus 19% VAT. Ask me for all missing invoice details. Do not finalise yet.”

The last sentence matters: the assistant should wait while you review the draft.

The assistant may ask for addresses, service period or payment due date. Check names, tax numbers, bank details, amounts and the tax rate yourself. Rechnungstool provides a structured workflow, but cannot assess every transaction for you.

If you have connected a free account, the assistant can search saved profiles, customers and items. Without an account, the details remain in the anonymous workspace.

Ask for a summary of sender, recipient, items, net amount, tax and gross amount. Correct the draft before approving finalisation.

“Show me all invoice details and totals before finalising. Finalise only when I explicitly confirm.”

After your confirmation, Rechnungstool finalises the invoice. This action cannot be undone. In a connected account it reserves the correct next invoice number. Repeated technical requests are idempotent and do not accidentally create a second invoice.

The ZUGFeRD PDF comes back into the chat. Unlike a regular PDF, it also contains structured invoice data. See ZUGFeRD vs XRechnung for details.

After delivering the file, the assistant may offer to transfer the anonymous workspace into an account. A free account adds permanent history, reusable profiles, customers and items, and consistent future invoice numbers. Without transfer, invoices and PDFs in the anonymous workspace are removed after 30 days.

You do not have to open the web app to complete your first invoice.
